  • Edward Nightingale – You can’t always win

    39.90

    About failure in graffiti

In November 2019 a group of friends traveled to Tashkent in Uzbekistan to paint the local subway system. Their lack of chance is captured in this book.

Edward’s most emotional and intimate publication to this day is a visual essay about failure in graffiti.

As trainwriting happens to be illegal, trains often are protected against unwanted visitors. With high-security levels, success is not always guaranteed.
Sometimes there can be even a complete lack of it.
Every graffiti writer experienced those moments. But yet it is a topic hardly talked about.
Out of a writer’s perspective, nothing happens.
Follow four friends around remote areas of Tashkent, trying their luck with the subway for a week.
    But nothing happens.

  • PATIPERRO – The diary of a Sudaka

    59.90

„PATIPERRO“ is the book in which Ale VLOK explains his adventures painting trains and subways all around the world, based on his artistic creativity and his particular point of view: that of a Chilean who began the adventure of his life as an illegal immigrant in Barcelona.

This editorial production is divided into 11 chapters, each represented by a portrait of the sneakers that our protagonist wore in each of the stories told. Throughout the book’s 392 pages, Ale VLOK narrates his experiences in different cities in an unusually honest way, joined by writers from all over the world, and accompanied by images and artistic pieces — all framed by a remarkable sense of aesthetics.

Barcelona, New York, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Cape Town, Dublin, Bucharest, Bilbao, Porto and many other cities …

29 cities over 4 continents, and more than 20 internationally renowned writers star in this editorial masterpiece dedicated to the most humane part of train graffiti.

Although artistic photography plays a key role in this book, each episode also contains other elements that enhance the understanding of the emotions that Ale VLOK describes. For this, he uses a range of mediums, from artistic collages to portraits of writers, through photographs of objects of special value and, of course, photos of graffiti pieces.

„PATIPERRO“ is undoubtedly one of the most original graffiti books in recent memory. In addition to its personal and exhilarating content, it stands out for the attention to aesthetic detail that is intertwined into the different narratives. A work that’s interesting not only for graffiti writers, but also for lovers of photography, art, design and adventure … as well an indispensable addition to the shelves any selfrespecting graffiti book collector.

  • Sven Willms – In Your America

    10.00

  • Like Lipstick Traces

    29.90 19.90

A spectacular photographic journey through the lenses of 13 graffiti artists.
13 graffiti writers, 2 years, 600 unpublished Polaroids.
Like Lipstick Traces shows the everyday life of 13 graffiti writers. Consciously, and therefore in contrast with usual graffiti publications, it uses the peculiar medium of Polaroid.
A Polaroid camera and about one hundred Polaroid photos was sent to well known graffiti writers of different nationalities. The task was to shoot their everyday life with complete freedom in the choice of the motifs. It is that freedom which makes this book so special, but also the fact that all these unpublished photos were taken especially for the book.
In the beginning of the 21st century, graffiti seems to be taking a line which is totally against its original motivation.
On one hand, this might be caused by more severe penalties, on the other it is due to the increasing incorporation of the media and big business. Thus, the artists presented in this book devote themselves to this art in a committed way. They do not succumb to commercial pressure and they bring new life into the graffiti movement.
Artists featured: Aroe (UK), C.B.S (DE), Dumbo (IT), Honet (FR), Kegr (DK), O’Clock (FR), Os Cururus (BR), Rate (USA), Remio (NOR), Rocky (ES), Scan (CA), Smash (CH), The E.R.S (BE).
