Smiles for Miles
Mein Lieber Prost kommt aus einem fernen Land, wo sehr viel gelacht, gelächelt und gegrinst wird. Möglicherweise fehlt ihm das, als er in jungen Jahren durch ein Kunststipendium nach Deutschland kommt. Vielleicht ist sein Trademark Smiley die natürliche Reaktion auf das neue Umfeld. Also verbreitet er das Lachen in der Stadt und Berlin liebt ihn dafür. Seine Wände scherzen, lachen, sind frech. Sie interagieren mit dem Betrachter und sind selten „nur“ ein Style Statement – simple is not easy!
Bekanntheit erreicht Prost auch durch seine One-Liner-Technik und seine Ad-Bustings – die Veränderung von Werbebotschaften im öffentlichen Raum, selten zugunsten der Werbenden. Dafür widmet ihm der Rapper und Streetart Chronist Emus Primus einen Tribut Song, George Clooney kauft ein Street Piece und berühmte Kollegen wie Blek Le Rat oder Evol outen sich als Fans.
Binnen weniger Jahre erntet MLP internationalen Kultstatus. „Aber auch Probleme. Also wieder dahin wo der Pfeffer wächst“sagt MLP. Nach fast drei Jahren freut sich Mural Harbor diesen vielseitigen Künstler zurück nach Europa zu holen für die Einzel-Austellung
„Kunst, Krimi & Kommerz“, in der Mein Lieber Prost sein ganzes Werk präsentiert – großteils neue Arbeiten, aber auch eine Retrospektive zu seinen AdBustings und Culture Jammings.

ARTSLAM! is taking over Wien Museum for their closing weekend! FREE ENTRY!

Join us as we celebrate the huge success of Wien Museums Takeover event with a live art and live music party hosted by ARTSLAM! and Soon art studio!

What is Artslam?
Artslam is a live art event featuring over 30 local artists! The artists will be set up to sell works and many will also be PAINTING LIVE on canvas, paper, wood, etc! Most the work created during the event will be up for silent auction! So you will have the chance to get a really unique piece of art to remember the night.

Nach einer kleinen Sommerpause geht es auch bei uns weiter mit Ausstellungen.

Und so begrüßen wir gleich zu Beginn „82Eliote“ aus Marseille, der für seine Kompositionen aus abstrakten Formen und Buchstaben bekannt ist.

Wir freuen uns sehr auf seinen ersten Besuch in Wien.

Join us on August 8th at 19:30 for a „Meet & Greet“ and Print release party with Ten Hun and Deadbeat Hero!

Soon is proud to present Muralist, illustrator, and Designer Ten Hundred (Ten Hun). In collaboration with Duality | Calle Libre Festival for Urban Aesthetics

Ten Hundred (Peter Robinson) is an artist and designer from Seattle, WA. He was born raised in Michigan and moved around the United States before settling in Seattle in 2006.
He specializes in bright, colorful, imaginative character work.
He is inspired by cartoons and anime, street art and graffiti, childlike imagination, comics, world cutltures, religions, and folklore.
He spends his time creating fine art, gallery shows, clothing, toys and figurines, designing art for businesses, and creating large murals.

Together with local artist Deadbeat Hero, they will be painting a mural at this years Calle Libre!

Deadbeat Hero Art is a Texas born street artist and the co founder of Soon Art Studio who now calls Vienna home. He is well known for this „Austrianaut“ and „Sweatermen“ characters which you can see painted all over the city and where ever he visits. He work is heavily influenced by comic books and classic 80’s cartoons.
