METRO, STAR, ACID, NITRO – B.A.D.crew sind die Namen, die er in seiner künstlerischen Zenit zwischen 1997 und 2004 überwiegend benutzt hat. Diese Zeitspanne wird in „Metro // Star – the memories that remain“ betrachtet, mit einer Werksschau seiner unzähligen, meist unberöffentlichte Arbeiten auf S- und U-Bahn Zügen. Für viele Writer war er durch die Quantität, Qualität und Originellität seiner Bilder in dieser Zeit, Idol, Vorbild oder zumindest Inspiration. Neue Maßstäbe wurden auch mit der Veröffentlichung der Videos HARDKNOCKS 4 & 5 gesetzt, wo sich der harte Kern der Berliner Zugsprüher zusammenfand, mit Protagonisten wie MR.IX, SEKT, RINO, RAGE, AREA, FOUR, RUZD79 and ROGER.

In dem entstandenen Buch wird auf die Stilentwicklungen im Laufe der Jahre fokussiert und in drei Epochen eingeteilt. Metro // Star beschreibt in fünf Kapiteln in begleitenden Texten seine sich ändernden Motive und die Weiterentwicklung seines Styles sowie seine persönliche Entwicklung. Es ist ein Umfangreiches Buch entstanden, dass vor allem durch die vielen großflächigen Abbildungen, die ästhetisch hochwertige Gestaltung und die Reproduktion der Erinnerungen an vergangene Jahre einer ganzen Writer-Genration heraussticht.

Das Entstehen und Zerfallen, Aufbauen und Zerstören, der ewige Wandel und die ihm immanenten Notionen von Unendlichkeit füllen die Werke Daniel Weissbachs mit der Energie der Zeit als Grundbedingung menschlichen Daseins. Durch die materialisierten Bewegungen, die manifestierten Gesten und eingefrorenen Momente erschaffte er eine Sprache, die Unbenanntes zu benennen vermag, die Zwischenräume aufspürt und zu Protagonisten macht, die Vergangenes in die Gegenwart holt. Als wäre ein Leben, ein Mensch nicht genug, um Möglichkeiten und Begrenzungen der weltlichen Ordnung hinlänglich zu hinterfragen, katalysierte Daniel die Ambiguität der Existenz in vielfältige Identitäten.

Dieses Buch ist der Versuch, sein Gesamtwerk abzubilden, um den Wert seines künstlerischen Schaffens über die Zeit zu erhalten.
In Erinnerung an Daniel Weissbach aka COST aka DTagno, der im Jahr 2020 tragischerweise verstarb.
